How you can save £600+ before your first competitive show of the season
Here at KOMPAK we always like to give you all the tips, tricks and hacks when it comes to competing.
I don’t know what it is, but even years and years on, the inner student within me STILL LIVES ON & STRONG!
We all know competing can become an expensive sport as well, so any little thing helps I truly believe that.
Here are a few things I have done this year to save me over £600+:
TAN: saving £25 (over the course of a few shows way more than this!)
Doing your own base coat in your hotel (or at home) seems scary, but once you’ve tried it, it gets way easier!
Also, if you have a friend that has a spray gun, you can throw your pro tan base coat into the gun no stress at all (something that quite a few girls don’t seem to know about)
HOTEL: £150+
Leading on from tan, if you’re able to, commute from home! Especially if you are close and doing your own base coat at home.
I used to be that girl who would always book a hotel room the night before, but now I get a bit annoyed if I can’t be at home the night before LOL
With me having dogs as well, it’s less hassle getting someone to cover the dogs for just part of show day, instead of a full 24 hours +
HAIR REMOVAL: £53+ saving
I’m a dark hair girl, so naturally always gear towards waxing, but the cost of waxing adds up if you’re going show to show!
After my season is done I am for sure investing in laser, but until then, the Pro Tan Hair Away Cream on my arms and stomach works a treat, even for my dark hair.
Lip and chin I still would use my facial hair remover, as the pro tan is powerful stuff.
My legs and bikini line I will still do waxing, as it just grows back too fast for it’s all good LOL, but just doing the rest of me with the hair away definitely will go a long way.
NAILS: £35+ saving
I’m still getting gel on my feet, as it lasts SO long for me!
But hands… as usual for me… we’re going stick on, classic French.
You would be surprised the amount of girls who use this method like me!
My first show ever years ago I spent over £60 on gel extensions, while they looked great, it drove me nuts afterwards, and it wasn’t worth spending all that money on!
BIKINI: £300-350+ saving GR rental suit + Black Ice Bikini off the rack
Don’t get me wrong, a custom is amazing, BUT fun fact I pretty much always use rentals or off the rack.
For your first show and even maybe season, get a custom, figure out your sizing, but after that I would move towards other options available.
Off the rack Black Ice options are still the same amazing quality, but at a reduced price.
Whilst Georgia Rose Bikinis has over 65 suits to choose from, for only £140 a week which is mental…INCLUDING the couture and diva suits!
MAKE-UP: over the season saving of £300+
I can’t believe I am actually saying this, but I am going to try my own make up for the very first time this weekend!
My lesson with Danielle Spencer last year defo helped me think ‘okay, I can do this, I just need to stop saying I am bad at make up which I think is half the problem!’
Cannot recommend that lesson with Danielle Spencer more you know, even doing my day to day make-up, I feel sooo much more confident and that’s a win in itself!
HAIR: saving £35+ each show
Another one where I keep telling myself I’m not good at doing my hair, but hey ho, we will give it a go!
Got a couple of mini WOW hair products to try…let’s see if it’s worth the hype.
I’ll be honest there might be a few I might sneak an appointment in, but we’re going for it!!
Also if anyone has any good hair YouTube channels or instagrams to send me…I would owe you one!
So there we have it! I actually feel a bit more prepared and organised even writing this all out hahaha, but I do hope this email even saves you girls some money even if it’s in a small way.
Much love, Jasmin x
